8 hours

My first flight is in 8 hours to Philly. I'm not really sure how I feel right now. I'm going to miss everyone so much :/

This is my Rotary blazer. Throughout the year, as I meet other exchangers, we will exchange pins from our home country. At the end of the year, our blazers will be filled with mementos and memories. The pins I have so far are just from the Central States Conference in July. This blazer helps us be recognized, especially in the airport or during any travel. 

My First Host Family!

14 days!!

I have 14 more days here in America. I can't believe how fast this past year has gone. I'm mentally ready with the fact of not living with my family or seeing my friends for a year. Mentally, as in speaking German, I'm not ready. I have really neglected my German studies. (Let's just hope I catch on soon!) I picked up my Euros today also. Man, American dollars are worth NOTHING. I exchanged $174 and got 115 Euros back. Not cool -_- I need to start packing, which I have no idea how I'm going to pack a years worth of items into one checked bag and a carry on. This will be interesting.

New Departure Date

A miscommunication happened and I will now leave America August 31st and arrive in Germany September 1st. Let's see how this goes! :) I'll have 6 days to get situated before my school starts now instead of over a month. I won't be able to meet my host sister now either, who is going to Brazil August 5th.I hope this was for the best, everything happens for a reason right?

34 Days

I have 34 days, almost 33 in 30 minutes, till I depart from America to go to Germany. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time. It hasn't hit me either how fast these last days will go by. I'm ready to begin this adventure but not at the same time. I didn't realize how fast time was creeping on me. I haven't done much of anything to prepare for this, mentally or physically. We just bought my German health insurance today. Hopefully, my plane tickets are next!
